FAQ

What types of partnership models are available under the Pier Partner Program?
The Pier Partner Program offers two flexible partnership models, designed to fit different levels of engagement and business maturity:
Referral: You recommend Pier to a client, and we handle the sales process. You receive a commission for each qualified deal.
MSP: You fully own the client relationship, license the platform, and define your own pricing. This model is ideal for FinOps as a managed service. You are responsible for the platform’s implementation and supporting level.
How is the platform licensed for MSP partners?
MSP partners license the platform through a flexible, usage-based model. You commit to a minimum ingested billing volume (starting at ) and receive full access to all platform features — including automation, governance, and advanced reporting.
This commitment is pooled across all your clients, meaning you have total freedom to manage pricing and margins per account. You can resell Pier as part of your own FinOps service, bundle it with other offerings, or use it to expand existing client relationships.
Our goal is simple: you own the client, you own the upside.
Does my commitment expire or reset if unused?

No. Your commitment is not tied to usage in a specific month or client.
Pier Cloud uses a rolling commitment model, which means your committed volume can be allocated across different clients and time periods, as long as it stays within your contract duration. This gives you flexibility to onboard clients gradually without losing committed value.
There’s no penalty for uneven growth — we scale with you.

What’s the division of responsibility between Pier and the partner?
As a Pier Cloud partner, you fully own the client relationship — including onboarding, support, and service delivery. You are the main point of contact for your customers, and the platform is licensed under your brand and structure.
Pier provides you with:

Technical enablement and training
Access to partner documentation and templates
Dedicated support channels for your team (not your clients)

We support you — you support your clients.

What type of support do partners receive from Pier Cloud?
Pier Cloud offers dedicated support for partners — focused on enabling your team, not replacing it.
As a partner, you have access to:

A private partner channel for technical and commercial questions
Specialized onboarding and enablement sessions for your team
Ongoing product updates, roadmap previews, and go-to-market materials
Escalation channels for issue resolution when needed

You stay in control of the client relationship. We’re here to support you behind the scenes — fast, structured, and partner-first.

Can I manage both member accounts and independent customer organizations in Pier Cloud?
Yes. Pier Cloud fully supports multi-client and multi-organization setups — whether you operate under a consolidated billing model or manage clients with their own separate cloud accounts.
You can:

Centralize visibility across all your clients
Apply different rules, access levels, and governance policies per account
Offer both managed and semi-managed FinOps services, depending on the client profile

The platform adapts to your operating model, not the other way around.

How do I access and manage my clients’ accounts on the platform?
As a partner, you have access to a dedicated Partner Console where you can view and manage all your client environments from a single place.
Each client account is isolated and secured, but you can:

Switch between environments instantly
Configure permissions and visibility per user or team
Perform actions, track usage, and manage compliance across your portfolio

It’s centralized control — with the flexibility to manage each client on their terms.

I’m migrating from another FinOps tool. How does the onboarding work?
We’ve helped several partners successfully transition from legacy FinOps tools — and we make the process simple.
During onboarding, we support your team with:

Platform mapping and tenant setup
Guidance on migrating reports, compliance rules, and cost allocation models
Training on equivalent (or improved) workflows inside Pier Cloud

You don’t need to replicate everything manually — we help you evolve your FinOps operation while preserving continuity for your clients.
